Measurement of temperature daily extremes

The minimum air temperatures are shown which were read on the minimum thermometer in a weather instrument shelter 2 m above the ground at 6 UTC (7SEV), which refer to the period from 18 UTC of a previous day until 6 UTC on the day they were read (that is, they refer to the previous 12 hours).

The minimum and maximum air temperatures are used for synoptic and forecasting operational purposes and thus can vary from the values written in climatological data basis. According to the World Meteorological Organization's rules, the minimum and the maximum air temperature is recorded in meteorological data basis which is read on thermometers ina weather instrument shelter on 2 m above the ground at 9 o'clock local time. These refer to the period from 9 PM of the previous day until 9 PM on the day they are recorded (that is, on the previous 24 hours).

UTC   world time, Universal Time Coordinated or Coordinated Universal Time. It is defined by mean solar time of 0° (Prime) Meridian at 12 PM on 1st January 1900.
SEV Mean European Time, UTC +1
LV local time. Climatological monitoring is not done at the same time in all the stations. Each station has its own local time which corresponds with passing of the Sun through its Meridian.
