Air temperature anomalies for Croatia in July 2018

The average monthly air temperature for July 2018 throughout Croatia was above the multi-annual average (1961 - 1990) as indicated by positive anomalies of average monthly air temperature. Corresponding air temperature anomalies were within the range from 1.0 °C to 2.4 °C.

Absolute maximum air temperature for July 2018 at roughly equal number of analized stations were above or below the corresponding average (1961 - 1990). Absolute maximum air temperature deviations were within the range from -2.1 °C to 4.2 °C. A comparison with the avaiable data series of analized stations (Table 1) reveals that in July 2018 there were no maximumm air temeperature which exceeded the absolute maximum on record.

According to percentile ranks and classification ratings, thermal conditions in Croatia for July 2018 described by following categories: extremely warm (part of the Nothhern and Middle Adriatic, the wider areas of the towns of Gospić and Dubrovnik), warm (Eastern Croatia, the wider areas of the towns of Pazin and Knin as well as the part of the Southern Adriatic) and very warm (the rest of Croatia).


Precipitation amounts for Croatia in July 2018

An analysis of the precipitation amounts for July 2018 expressed as percentages (%) of 1961 - 1990 average, shows that these precipitation amounts were mainly below the average. A comparison with the multi-annual average reveals that corresponding precipitation amounts for July 2018 were within the range from 40 % to 204 % of the mentioned average for this month.

According to percentile ranks and classification ratings, the precipitation amounts for July 2018 have been described by the following categories: dry (part of the Nothern Adriatic, Zavižan, and the wider area of the town of Gospić), wet (part of Eastern Croatia and part of the Middle and Southern Adriatic) and normal (the rest of Croatia).
