Title UKV − Carstic Coastal Water Management Endangered by Climate Changes
Abstract Project is oriented on research of: unwanted consequences of climate changes in coastal carstic water aquifer - salinity and temperature rise, water quality decreasing including undertaking some measures for adaptation on them in sectors of water resources, tourism, agriculture and health. Extraordinary seasonal water consumption especially during summer months when a necessity for the water is the highest.
Objective of the project A goal of the Project is establishment of surface and underground water monitoring in three pilot areas (Zadar, Korčula nad Cres) including surface and groundwater water quality and quantity analysis using climate and hydrological models for the period to the end of this century. On this way a less vulnerable water supply on climate change will be achieved.
Key words water supply, coastal aquifer, adaptation on climate changes, Croatia
