| Abstract | Under the Cooperation Programme INTERREG V-A Slovenia - Croatia, through its Priority Axis (PA) 1, Integrated Flood Risk Management in Transboundary River Basins, the programme FRISCO 1 provides an unique opportunity for country water authorities to improve the transboundary flood risk management and achieve a reduction of flood risks.
This Project (Flood Risk Slovenia-Croatia Operations - Strategic Project 1 - Nonstructural Measures (FRISCO1)), will serve two key purposes: to improve coordinated flood risk management and reduce flood risks through implementation of non-structural measures, and to prepare documentation (studies and design) for the optimal structural measures that will be implemented in subsequent strategic structural project or projects. The main outputs will be sets of joint models, maps and tools for each of the six target transboundary river basins (Kupa, Sutla, Drava, Mura, Dragonja and Bregana) with the associated design documentation for the implementation of optimal structural measures. The Project will address the needs of a wide range of target groups, and the ultimate beneficiary of the Project is the transboundary river basins population. |
