Project summary | Project consists of improvement of non-structural measures of flood risk management in the Republic of Croatia that will achieve the targeted result of flood risk reduction with other positive results related to the improvement in monitoring, analysis and finding optimal solutions for integrated and sustainable management of water, aquatic environment and flood risks in the Republic of Croatia.
The implementation of the Project will provide and systematize the missing information related to catchments, watercourses, water’s regulation and protective structures, modernize and upgrade the network of hydrological measuring stations, develop or improve flood forecasting mathematical models, develop or improve the study of flood risk management, acquire the necessary equipment for more efficient operational flood protection, educate and inform the public about flood risks, and carry out other activities that will comprehensively improve non-structural flood risk management measures in the Republic of Croatia. Hrvatske vode (Project aplicant) and DHMZ (Project partner) will implement Project activities in partnership. |
Project purpose | The purpose of the VEPAR project is to improve the non-structural flood risk management measures under the responsibility of the project beneficiaries, Hrvatske vode and DHMZ, which will achieve the targeted result of flood risk reduction in the Republic of Croatia, with other positive results related to the improvement in monitoring, analyzes and finding optimal solutions for the integral and sustainable management of water, the aquatic environment and flood risks in the Republic of Croatia. |
