30 June 2016, Zagreb
Organized by Meteorological and Hydrological Service
and European Commission Joint Research Centre
with support of Ministry of Environment and Nature Protection and Croatian Chamber of Economy
The objective of the event is to disseminate the results of a series of studies on the air quality in different areas of the Danube Region to the authorities and the public with a view to promote a better understanding and to facilitate a constructive dialogue on this topic. The main focus will be on the comparative analysis of the causes of air pollution in Budapest, Sofia and Zagreb, carried out in 2014-2015 within the frame of the Danube Air Nexus project. An assessment of measures to identify efficient abatement strategies for the most prominent air pollution sources will be also illustrated.
The symposium is intended as an opportunity for a constructive dialogue among the different actors involved in the air quality topic: experts, authorities and stakeholders.
