Air temperature anomalies for Croatia in April 2019

April 2019 was characterised by average monthly air temperature higher than the multi-annual average (1981 - 2010) at the all analyzed stations. Corresponding air temperature anomalies were within the range from 0,3 °C (Daruvar) to 1,9 °C (Dubrovnik).

Absolute maximum air temperatures for April 2019 were above the average (1981 - 2010) at almost all analyzed stations. Corresponding anomalies were within the range from -0,2 °C (Parg and Pazin) to 5,0 °C (Slavonski Brod). A comparison with the available data series of analyzed stations reveals that in April 2019 there were no maximum air temperatures which exceeded the absolute maximum on record (Table 1)

According to percentile ranks and classification ratings, thermal conditions in Croatia for April 2019 have been described by the following categories: (Northern and Middle Adriatic and part of the Southern Adriatic), very warm (the wider area of the town of Dubrovnik) and normal (the rest of Croatia).



Precipitation amounts for Croatia in April 2019

An analysis of the precipitation amounts for April 2019 expressed as percentages (%) of 1981 - 2010 average, reveals that these precipitation amounts were mainly above the average. A comparison with the multi-annual average reveals that corresponding precipitation amounts for April 2019 were within the range of 91 % - 222 % of the above mentioned average for this month.

According to percentile ranks and classification ratings, the precipitation amounts for April 2019 have been described by the following categories: normal (wider areas of the towns of Varaždin, Sisak and Knin, part of Eastern Croatia as well as part of the Northern and Middle Adriatic), very wet (part of the Southern Adriatic) and wet (the rest of Croatia).
