Air temperature anomalies for Croatia in October 2019

October 2019 is characterized by average monthly air temperature above the multi-annual average (1981 - 2010) at all meteorological stations included in the climate monitoring in Croatia. Corresponding air temperature anomalies were within the range from 0.4 °C to 2.5 °C.

Absolute maximum air temperature in October 2019 was above the corresponding average (1981 - 2010) at the all analyzed stations and anomalies were within the range from 0.2 °C to 3.4 °C. A comparison with available data series of analyzed stations (Table 1) reveals that in October 2019 there was one meteorological station (Puntijarka) where maximum air temperature exceeded the absolute maximum on record (Table 1).

Absolute minimum air temperature in October 2019 was above the corresponding average (1981 - 2010) at the all analyzed stations and anomalies were within the range from 0.9 °C to 6.5 °C. A comparison with the available data series of analyzed stations (Table 2) reveals that in October 2019 there were no minimum air temperatures below the absolute minimum on record.

According to percentile ranks and classification ratings, thermal conditions in Croatia for October 2019 fall in the following categories: very warm (part of Northern and Central Croatia, part of the Middle and Southern Adriatic and their hinterland as well as an area in Northern Velebit), normal (part of the Middle Adriatic and its hinterland) and warm (the rest of Croatia).



Precipitation amounts for Croatia in October 2019

An analysis of the precipitation amounts for October 2019 expressed as percentages (%) of 1981 - 2010 average, shows that precipitation amounts were below the mentioned average at the all analyzed stations. A comparison with the multi-annual average reveals that corresponding precipitation amounts for October 2019 were within the range of 23 % - 91 % of the mentioned average for this month.

According to percentile ranks and classification ratings, the precipitation amounts for October 2019 have been described by the following categories: normal (part of the Northern and Middle Adriatic as well as part of Central and Eastern Croatia), very dry (wider area of the town of Split) and dry (the rest of Croatia).
