By plain:
Cavtat is within easy reach of Dubrovnik Airport. Dubrovnik Airport is located in Ćilipi, about 5 km from Cavtat. A taxi from the airport to the Hotel Croatia or any other hotels nearby will take around 10 mins.
Dubrovnik has excellent connections with regular flights to all major European cities and the USA, although a majority stopover in Zagreb along the way.
Many European companies have regular flights to Zagreb and from there the Croatian national carrier, Croatian Airlines, provides regular flights to Dubrovnik. The flight from Zagreb takes approximately 45 minutes.
By bus:
There are regular international buses connecting Croatia with Austria, Italy, Hungary, France, Germany, the Slovak Republic and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The cheapest way to travel to Croatia from central Europe is by bus, and it's not as uncomfortable as might seem.
Most international buses go to either Zagreb or Split.
From there you can reach Dubrovnik or Cavtat by domestic bus service.
From Dubrovnik there are local busses to Cavtat .
By car:
Croatia is integrated into the European road marking system. European roads are indicated by the letter "E" and highway roads "M".
The most picturesque route in Croatia is considered to be the Adriatic highway (Jadranska magistrala) which connects Rijeka (just south of the border with Slovenia) and Dubrovnik Cavtat. Croatian shoreline guarantees spectacular scenery and breathtaking views.
To enter and drive in Croatia, you will require a green insurance card and valid national or international driving permit.
By ferry:
There are international and coastal ferry lines with arrivals and departures Dubrovnik. Jadrolinija is the main Croatian passenger ferry company, with the highest number of regular international and domestic lines. Dubrovnik is the southern most stop on the Jadrolinija ferry service, the most scenic routes being from Rijeka, stopping off at Rab, Split, Hvar and Korčula along the way.
You can also travel to Dubrovnik Croatia by ferry from Bari, Italy.
The Dubrovnik harbour is located near the main bus station, where you can take local bus to Cavtat .
By train:
The rail network connects all major Croatian cities, but not Dubrovnik. There are direct lines to Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina and other countries. Indirect lines also exist, connecting Croatia to almost all other European countries. If you plan to travel by rail the best way is to arrive to Zagreb, Ploče or Split and take the bus from there to Dubrovnik and then local bus to Cavtat.
